Directions to Appalachian Abbey

From the West, Columbus, OH

I-70

• Take I-70 east.
• Take Exit 141/ Brownsville/Rt 668.
• Turn L onto route 668. Go 2 miles to Brownsville.
• Turn R onto Rt 40. (Continue past Gratiot signs and look for Hopewell Elementary School on the right.)
• Turn L onto County Line Road, just after the school, and go to dead end. (about 2.5 mi.)
• (Odd intersection of three roads.) Your goal is to continue in the same direction you have been going (north).
• Turn R go 30 feet, then turn immediately L, go uphill at the ill-placed stop sign. You will be on Flint Ridge Rd.
• Proceed for one mile. Turn R on Hidden Springs Road (a gravel road) and continue to dead end on Pert Hill Road. Our driveway is in front of you. Look for the sign Appalachian Abbey.

From North and North Columbus

I-270/Rt 161

• Take I-270 east then south,
• Go east on Rt 161 (which becomes Rt 37 near Granville, then Rt 16 near Newark). Stay on Rt 16.
• Exit Rt 16 at Hanover/Rt 146.
• Turn R onto Rt 146. Go 2.6 mi.
• Turn R on Pleasant Valley Road. (Hanby Farms is on the right.) Go about 6.6 mi. past Miller’s auto junk yard and down a steep hill.
• Bear R onto Pert Hill at the bottom of the hill. (Pleasant Valley will bear left).
• We are the 4^th house on the R at the intersection of Pert Hill and Hidden Springs Road. Look for the sign Appalachian Abbey.

Please note: if you are using any map service,

DO NOT USE HUNT ROAD!! 

Stay on Pleasant Valley Rd until you reach Pert Hill Rd.

From the East

I-70 or I-77

• Take I-70 west through Cambridge, then New Concord, passing Zanesville exits. When west of  Zanesville,
• Take Exit#152/National Road/Route 40.
• Turn R onto Rt 40. (Note the McDonald’s and Exxon station).
• Go 1 mile to traffic light.
• Turn R @ Dillon Falls Road (convenience store).
• IMMEDIATELY BEAR SLIGHTLY LEFT uphill, onto Jersey Ridge Rd. Pass cemetery. Go to dead end.
• Turn L onto Pinecrest, drive 3.5 mi to dead end.
• Turn R at Pleasant Valley Road. Go 0.7 mi.
• Turn L on Pert Hill Rd at winery sign.
• We are the fourth house on the right, 0.6 mi (at the intersection of Pert Hill Road and Hidden Springs Road, look for the Appalachian Abbey sign at the driveway.)
