Our "loft" is an spacious, upstairs, one room cottage where you can prepare meals for a family if you bring in your own food. There is a hotplate, a toaster oven, a microwave, a crockpot, and a full refrigerator/freezer. It is easier if you bring partially prepared meals that can be microwaved, then just add fresh ingredients A grill is down below under a porch, so you can grill rain or shine. If you arrange in advance, we will prepare family meals at costs comparable to a restaurant, but we fix fresh locally grown foods. You can have one meal or many. Talk to us. We can cook vegetarian for you or accommodate to special diets.
We can plan a local tour for your time here to suit your interests: history, nature, ancient native Americans, flint digging and "napping". Give us one week notice and tell us of your family's interests.
Experience unstructured time. We have books on wildflowers, birds, bugs, collection containers for specimens, and, unlike the state parks, kids can pick flowers. Binoculars are available. The creek is good for wading and the ravine is great for exploring. We have 70 acres of vineyard, woods, stream, and meadow, deer, turkey, woodpeckers and hawks. The property is landlocked, so you know your
children will be safe from roadside risks. The kids may be so busy you will have time for yourself.
The TV has local stations and a DVD player.
These are farm partner Ben's heirloom cows and his tropical Barbados sheep, happy without wool, so they are just grazers who keep the vineyard mowed.
